Sensitive Skin, Verified: Shopping SkinSAFE's Highest Score
Share
When you shop for sensitive skin or allergy concerns, a label can sound reassuring — and still leave you unsure what it actually covers. "Hypoallergenic" and "gentle" are not tightly regulated the way many shoppers expect. A product might avoid one irritant while still carrying common fragrance allergens or ingredients linked to contact reactions.
That is why Veridame maintains a SkinSAFE 100 collection: individual care products that earn the highest numeric rating on SkinSAFE's ingredient and allergen scale — rated exactly 100 on their 0–100 safety score.
What SkinSAFE 100 means
SkinSAFE rates personal-care products on a numeric scale from 0 to 100 based on ingredient and allergen data. A score of 100 is the top of that scale. On SkinSAFE, that rating reflects that the product is free of the top 11 most common allergens, as determined by Mayo Clinic Research.
That is a product-level numeric rating — not a company-wide policy and not a marketing phrase on packaging. You can look up any linked product on skinsafeproducts.com and see the score on its listing page.
SkinSAFE 100 is distinct from other SkinSAFE badges. It answers one specific question: does this individual product score 100 on SkinSAFE's numeric safety scale?
How Veridame's SkinSAFE 100 collection works
Our collection is product-scoped, not vendor-scoped. A product belongs in SkinSAFE 100 only when all of the following are true:
- We have verified a link between the store product and a SkinSAFE listing (via a
skinsafe-idtag on the product). - That linked SkinSAFE listing shows a numeric score of exactly 100.
- We refresh membership from SkinSAFE data — not from marketing language on a package, and not from other certification systems.
Eligible products carry the skinsafe-100 tag, and the collection is a smart collection that gathers every tagged product automatically. The numeric skinsafe_score metafield on the product comes from our SkinSAFE vendor link sync; the collection tag is applied when that score is 100.
Not the same as other SkinSAFE badges
SkinSAFE publishes more than one kind of signal. Keeping them separate helps you shop for what you actually care about:
- SkinSAFE Trusted Choice — a manufacturer-facing badge awarded after clinical evidence review (patch testing, sensitive-skin studies, fragrance allergen limits, ingredient purity). It is not the same as a numeric score of 100.
- SkinSAFE Shoppers Choice — a consumer-preference badge based on shopping behavior on SkinSAFE. A popular product is not automatically a score-100 product.
- SkinSAFE 100 — the highest numeric rating on SkinSAFE's 0–100 scale for that specific product listing.
A product can carry one badge, several, or none — depending on what SkinSAFE shows for that listing.
Products in this selection
These are the products currently in the collection. Each links to its SkinSAFE listing so you can verify the score yourself.
- Counter — AHA Smoothing Facial Mask — Exfoliating treatment mask for smoother-looking skin. SkinSAFE listing
- Crunchi — Gentle Facial Bar — Mild cleansing bar for everyday facial care. SkinSAFE listing
As we link more catalog products to SkinSAFE listings, this selection will grow — but only for products that score exactly 100.
What this collection is not
Not a clinical certification badge. SkinSAFE 100 reflects a numeric ingredient and allergen rating. It is not the same as SkinSAFE Trusted Choice, which involves manufacturer clinical review.
Not a consumer popularity vote. SkinSAFE Shoppers Choice reflects shopping preferences on SkinSAFE. A Shoppers Choice product is not automatically SkinSAFE 100.
Not the same as other Certified collections. Collections such as EWG Verified and PETA Approved answer different questions — ingredient transparency and animal-testing policy, respectively. A product can appear in more than one Certified collection when it meets each collection's own rules.
Keeping those standards separate helps you match what you care about — allergen score, clinical badges, ingredients, or testing policy — without mixing them into one vague "clean" claim.

Frequently asked questions
Is SkinSAFE 100 the same as SkinSAFE Trusted Choice?
No. Trusted Choice is a separate badge based on manufacturer clinical evidence review. SkinSAFE 100 means the product's numeric score on SkinSAFE's 0–100 scale is exactly 100.
How does Veridame verify a product's score?
We link store products to SkinSAFE listings and read the numeric score from SkinSAFE data. Only linked products with a verified score of 100 receive the skinsafe-100 tag and appear in the collection.
Can a product be SkinSAFE 100 and EWG Verified?
Yes. Those standards answer different questions. A product can appear in more than one Certified collection when it meets each collection's own rules.
How do I check a product's SkinSAFE score myself?
Search the product on skinsafeproducts.com, or use the SkinSAFE listing links above for products currently in our collection.
